Patricia Moore Obituary
February 21, 1930 - November 13, 2017
Patricia Ann Moore (Patty) passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Berkeley, on November 13, 2017. A loving wife to her husband Gerald Norton Moore, Jerry, for 61 years, and cherished mother to her seven children, Bill, Teresa, Dale, Julie, Laurie, John, and Colleen.Patricia was a devout and practicing Catholic throughout her life. She was born in Nebraska to Edward and Martha Risse, one of 11 children, with 5 brothers and 5 sisters, and grew up in a very loving and fun-filled family. The family moved to Rio Linda where Patty learned to milk cows, gather eggs and grow fresh vegetables. Her father started his own successful plumbing business, named "Risse and Sons Plumbing", still thriving today.
Patty graduated from St Joseph's catholic high school.
She met Jerry Moore, the love of her life, they married and moved to the bay area where Jerry began a very successful career with Allstate Insurance. Patty and Jerry enjoyed a wonderful life together while raising their children. Patty devoted herself to her family, giving freely of herself for the happiness and betterment of those she loved. She was an amazing cook, always having healthy, delicious meals for her family and friends. For years, Patty enjoyed her weekly bowling league, she loved growing flowers and gardening, and she always found time to volunteer at her kids school and joined various committees at her parish.
Along with being a wonderful mother to her seven children Patty was a loving and giving grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Kimberly & Matthew Moore, James & Eileen Cullen, Jason, Jeremy & Ricky Moore, Danielle Moore, Jack, Juliet & Harry Moore. Patty played a big role in her grandchildren's lives, ready to help at a moments notice.
Patty and Jerry gave generously to Catholic and other charities throughout their lives. They opened their home to many friends that had no family, often having them to dinner and including them on holidays.
A Catholic Mass will be held on December 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church at 2005 Berryman St. Berkeley, CA.
