Patricia Vincent Obituary

Patricia "Patsy" Vincent

Native San Franciscan Patricia "Patsy" Vincent passed away suddenly on January 1, 2015 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York where she resided from complications related to congestive heart failure. She was 69.
Born in San Francisco and educated at Katherine Delmar Burke School in San Francisco and San Domenico School in Marin County, California, Patsy was the second of three children of Ralph and Frances-Jean (Marwedel) Vincent. Patsy's older brother, Michael Vincent, a long-time Buffalo resident, pre-deceased her in 2013. She is survived by her younger brother, Kevin Vincent, of San Francisco, her sister-in-law, Sally Spitzmiller Vincent, of Buffalo, her nieces Margot Vincent Kinsman (Scott) of Buffalo, Kate Vincent Peterson (Matt) of Denver and their children.
A particularly warm-hearted and caring individual, Patsy had a long and productive career serving numerous charitable and church-related organizations including St. Vincent de Paul (San Francisco), Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, St. Peters Parish in Pacifica (California), Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa (California), the Diocese of Las Vegas (Nevada) and most recently Catholic Charities of Western New York (Buffalo).
Patsy treasured the richness of sincere friendship with many people across the country. An inveterate traveler, Patsy reveled in her frequent visits to Mexico, Guatemala, Africa, Ireland and Italy, to Colorado, and to her beloved San Francisco Bay Area.
A Memorial Mass to honor Patsy Vincent will be held Friday, January 9 at 10:00am at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 4375 Harris Hill Road, Williamsville, New York 14221. A celebration of life gathering will be held in San Francisco in the spring, date and site to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patsy's honor to Catholic Charities of Western New York or Mercy Housing, Inc.

I still think of Patsy so often and in so many ways. We had so many laughs and good times over the years, both before my sister Judy passed and after. For me, her spirit will be what I always remember, but I cherished her friendship most...Still missing and thinking of you Patsy...Gus Tham

Cannot believe where the time has gone - I know Patsy would have had a few choice thoughts to share about 2020. I think of her often and cherish the memories we created.

We knew Patsy from the short time she served in the Marianist Voluntary Services Communities in Pittsburgh from 1980-1981. She was a wonderful, caring woman and she was dearly loved by all who knew her there. As always, she worked with a charitable organization which helped to keep families together. All of us who knew her, including alumni of the MVSC, will miss her deeply. -- Guy and Rosanne Berube

Washington Street. Pinecrest. Scream with laughter. Later on, rest lightly on the health issues. And then scream with laughter again….. Rest.

My deepest sympathy is extended to Patsy's family & friends at her sudden death. We shared many years working & playing together in Las Vegas & having spoken with her a few days before her death it does not seem possible that she has left us. My prayers are with you all.

Patsy was fun, creative and such a life of the party - especially at school. The 4 years we spent together as boarding students at Dominican Upper School were an unending series of very funny and often soulful Patsy stories. She would tell me unending tales of how she suffered from "Cloisterphobia" but no matter how many things went wrong she would find something to laugh about. She had great strength and a generous heart...and a beautiful singing voice. Bless you Patsy.

Thinking of her makes me smile and always will. I already miss our calls and wish we had planned our halfway meet-up day for 2014 instead of February 2015. Your smile, wit, stories and intellect blessed us all. Meeting Patsy professionally led to the true gift of many years of friendship. I send my prayers and condolences to family. Heaven is lucky to have her.

Our sincere condolences for your loss. Patsy was a long time friend for sure, and she and my sister Judy were "thick as thieves", and no doubt they are reunited once again today. I was lucky to be able to spend a little time with her when she was in San Francisco recently, and we had some good laughs about the good old days. She will be missed!!!
