To the Lewis Family,
I had the pleasure of meeting and working with your father when I clerked at PM&S. He was thoughtful, wise and generous to all who knew him.
He was especially kind to me, always inquiring about my education and future plans. His door was always open to those of us who sought his advice and guidance. Even as he moved on to Chevron and I would have occasion to see him at 225 Bush, he never forgot me name and always managed to stop and spend a few minutes. He was a truly gifted man who knew and practiced law in a fashion seldom seen today.
Although I moved on to pursue other professional interests, I continued to remember Mr. Lewis and his thoughtful and kind words of advice.
He will truly be missed. Please accept my condolences. Mr. Lewis' spirit will remain as strong as ever for those honored and fortunate to know him.

I knew of him at both Pillsbury and later at Chevron, where he succeeded my previous boss as General Counsel. An able, accomplished, likeable man who lived a rich and full life. RIP.
