What can you say of a man who touched so many with joyous and genuine interest? He inspired us to achieve greater understandings of the creative processes. All generations are at a loss when such a one departs. I still have the lighthouse in my backyard he helped me spin on the lathe, as my first turning. He forever remains a fond touch on my heart. Thank you Mr. Higley and I hope we meet again. I love you. RonBert.com

Dear Higley Family,

I fondly remember Mr. Higley from Portola. He was a great teacher, and I considered him a friend as well. I was one of the first girls allowed to take shop(back in 1975). Poor Mr. Higley wasn't sure what to do with the two girls he had, but we actually learned alot. In the late 80's my husband was a teacher at Portola, he knew of Mr Higley as a great teacher as well. He will be missed, God Bless your family.
