Condolences on the loss of your mother. What a great, rich and adventurous life she lived!
I am one of "intrepid Agatha Hogan´s" nieces and my siblings and I all enjoyed her mention in the beautiful obituary.
Agatha recognized quality and commanded excellence, so your mother must have been really stellar in the classroom. Imagine these two strong and memorable women-catching up over a lively conversation about the state of public education and so much more!

She was my teacher for 2nd and 3rd grade in the late 70s. In recent years, I searched for her online, unsuccessfully, to see how she was doing.
I imagine my name is still on her board.
Rest In Peace, Mrs. Abad.
P.S. I married a 2nd grade teacher.

Phyllis and I went to the same university, shared the same profession, were members of three organizations together, and both joined the "not so gourmet" dining group. There are many happy memories that I have of good times and good conversations.
One thing that always come to mind with Phyllis is her great fashion sense. She always looked great. She once suggested that I add boots to wear with a dress I had. Made the purchase the next day; she was so right as I received many compliments. As the song says, "Little things mean a lot."

Three favorites photos of my mom when she chaperoned a trip with the Lowell HS speech and debate team to the 2014 national championships in Kansas City. We had a great time.

Rest in peace to a truly amazing woman who led a fulfilling life with much to be proud of. Thank you Mrs. Abad for accompanying us, and the rest of the Lowell team, to the 2019 CHSSA State Tournament in Long Beach. I still look upon that time with great fondness.
