Ramon Roldan Obituary

Ramon P. Roldan Jr. Passed away Nov. 20, 2007 at age 58. Born January 27, 1949 in Iloilo, Philippines, he attended Don Bosco High and Univ. of the East in Manila, Philippines, and graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, major in accounting in 1979, and with a bachelor of laws degree in 1988. Ramon was working as an accounting officer at the State Compensation Insurance Fund at the time of his death. Prior to this he worked at private companies in the Silicon Valley in various capacities as staff accountant, accounting manager and accounting administrator. A certified public accountant and an established banker in the Philippines, his first job upon arrival in the US in 1991 was as an accounting manager of Philippine News. Ramon loved golf, guns and good food. He took great pride in his role as trainer at SCIF and as Eucharistic minister and lector at All Souls Parish. His favorite roles in life however were being the devoted husband of the former Milagros Wilfreda Bitonio, his wife of 17 years, and doting father to his two daughters, Patricia Mae and Samantha Karen. A doer and achiever, he has won numerous awards but considers the "Best Daddy Award" he received three Father's Days ago as the most prestigious. Friends may visit Sunday and Monday, 4 pm to 9 pm, and are invited to attend the Vigil and Prayer Service Monday at 6:30 pm, at Tiffany Chapel, Cypress Lawn Funeral Home, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma. Funeral on Wednesday, November 28, at 12 noon at All Souls Church, 315 Walnut Ave, SO.SF. Interment will follow at the Cypress Lawn Memorial Park.

Dear Tita Baby, Patti and Sam,

Instinct, perhaps, but I almost wrote "Dear Tita Baby, Tito Mon, Patti and Sam" as I used to address all of you in the very rare times that I do write or send an email. I guess I still cannot fathom the fact that our dear Tito Mon has already gone home to our Lord. I admire you, Tita Baby, Patti and Sam for the strength that's keeping you going. When I heard of Tito Mon's passing, I remember this line from the one of the Carpenters' cassette we used to listen together, Tita: Why does the sun go on shining?

I wish I could do more than send messages. We love you, Tita, Patti and Sam!

love,

line, ken, cushie and ricci

Dear Baby, Patti and Sam,
Our loss of Ramon is sad but we should be consoled that he is now in a better place. It should make us realize that life is short so we have to make the most of it especially with our relationship to others. Like a good "seed" that needs to be planted to become a beautiful flower or tree, our earthly life has an end so we could live an everlasting life with the Lord. God bless you!

Dearest Auntie Baby, Patty and Samantha:

It is always painful to lose someone so dear, but there is great consolation knowing that Uncle Mon is with the Lord, blessed with His ultimate promise of salvation and new life. I’m sorry that I didn’t get to attend the services or visit you during my year in San Francisco, but after all these years, I still remember him as a man of great love for his family. Know that you all will be in my prayers.

To Baby, Patti and Sam,
It was an uplifting experience..the Visitation, the Vigil Service, the Funeral, the prayer services, the get-together. Ramon's passing taught us an important life lesson: family and friends are a big part of our lives.
Let's cherish every moment with them.
Love always, Vinn (Tita)
