Renata Minetto, age 92, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in Redwood City, California. Born September 29, 1929, in Santa Maria a Monte, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Mario Rosellini and Santina (Buti) Rosellini.
Renata was the dearly beloved wife of the late John Minetto, her husband of 71 years. She was the devoted mother of her four children: Joanne (Jim) Larson, Denise (Paul) Galway, David (Margaret) Minetto and Donna (Dan) Cervelli; cherished grandmother of: Dennis, Christina, Lisa, Laura, Shannon, Dan, Tim, Stephanie, Gina and Mario; beloved Nonna to her twelve great grandchildren: Ariana, Jack, Jake, Olivia, Oliver, Colin, Justin, Everett, Aaron, John, Aurabella and Harleau.
Renata came with her mother Santina to San Francisco when she was 18 months old reuniting them with her father Mario. The story of her coming to the United States was one that she loved sharing with her family. As an only child, she was showered with love by her parents as well as her aunts, uncles and cousins. Renata grew up in North Beach where her parents owned Florence Ravioli Factory. It's no wonder she was such a wonderful cook. Her husband John would later go on to work at the delicatessen for 44 years. Renata graduated from Balboa High School and shortly after high school married and started her family. An artist at heart, she loved to paint porcelain and canvas, and continued to paint until the end of her life. A true 49ers and SF Giants fan, she rarely missed watching a game. However, what Renata loved most was her family. Holidays and family gatherings, filled with good food and laughter, were her happiest times. She was forever proud of the big and loving family that she and John created. She will be dearly missed.
A private service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Mission Hospice & Home Care at 66 Bovet Road, Suite 100, San Mateo, CA 94402.
