Richard Paddack Obituary

Richard W. Paddack

Richard Paddack, 81, of Petaluma, California, passed away on Sunday, 3 September 2017 with his family by his side.

Richard was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gael, his children and their spouses Laura and Robin; Mark and Cheryl; Todd and Stephanie and his grandchildren Ryan, Megan, Mack, Kelley, Nicholas, Spencer, Owen and Leo.

Richard was born in San Francisco, California and attended Lowell High School and Stanford University, where he graduated with a degree in civil engineering. Richard thoroughly enjoyed life with his family and his work as a commercial developer in San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia, retiring and moving back to the Bay Area in the late 1990's. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was a talented pianist and had a special soft spot for dogs, cars, jazz music, Stanford football, Giants baseball, just about any basketball and good red wine. After retirement, he and Gael spent much of their time visiting friends and family, traveling to exotic locales, and enjoying jaunts to the local wine country.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Stanford School of Engineering or Great Dane Rescue of Northern California. A life celebration will be held at 11am on Saturday, 7 October 2017 at the Marin Yacht Club, 24 Summit Avenue, San Rafael, California.

Wile our paths never crossed, I am always saddened by the passing of a native San Franciscan, who attended Lowell High School. When Richard was at Stanford, I was returning from Korean Service to finish up at U.C. Berkeley and also live in Marin County, while working out of my law firm in San Francisco.
My heart goes out to Gael and his family for the loss.
God Bless You, Rick Bradley
