Richard Warrington Obituary

Richard Wayne
Warrington Richard, 88, Poway, California, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2012. Richard was born September 15, 1924 in Sac City, Iowa to Wayne and Anne Warrington. He had two loving sisters, Ruth and Joan, both deceased. Richard was married to Shirley (1945), Pam (Patria) (d) 1950-1963, and Lydia (d) (1968-1988), and is survived by daughter Wendy, and sons Richard and Robert, and his three grandchildren Luke, Gabrielle, and Calvin, children of his son, Bob and daughter-in-law, Lara.
Richard was raised in Iowa, served in the Navy during World War II, and was discharged in California, where he fell in love with the San Francisco Bay Area. He quickly became a "Native San Franciscan" and lived in the Bay Area for most of his adult life. He used the GI Bill to go to UC Berkeley and eventually ended up in the publishing business, which was a perfect fit for his abilities and his love of books.
Richard will be remembered for his kindness and his love of his family. He never lost his love for learning, and was a voracious reader all his life. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.
