Rita Snyder Obituary

Rita Ann Snyder
November 30, 1922 - June 22, 2022
Rita Ann Snyder passed away peacefully on June 22 at the age of 99. Rita was born on November 30, 1922 in San Jose, CA to Dominic Cirincione and Teresa (Galluccio) Cirincione. An only child, Rita had the good fortune to have access to large extended families on both sides of the family from San Francisco to San Jose and all parts in between. She remained close to many of these relatives throughout her life and enjoyed numerous social occasions, reunions and family get togethers with them.
Rita spent much of her formative years in San Francisco. It was there through mutual friends that she met the love of her life, Milton Snyder. Married in 1955, Rita and Milton went on to start their own direct mail advertising business where Milton continued to work until his retirement.
Due to the declining health of both of her parents, Rita was their primary caregiver for many years. Although Rita and Milton had no children of their own, they were "Aunt Rita" and "Uncle Milt" to many children in the extended families.
Avid San Francisco 49ers and Giants fans, Rita and Milton also took pride in tending to their gardens in their home in Burlingame and were able to enjoy lots of time together pursuing one of their other favorite hobbies, fishing. They spent lots of time together fishing the surf near Pacifica and many bodies of freshwater in Northern California and Oregon as well enjoyed taking many other trips by land and on cruise ships.
After Milton's passing in 2002, Rita was able to maintain her independence for many years and stayed very active, visiting family and taking trips to try her luck playing the slot machines. Rita enjoyed the company of her extended family and enjoyed her many visits with family in the Sacramento area.
Rita's family is grateful for the care provided by her nurse Lilly Rolloff and also Karla and her staff of caregivers who made it possible for Rita to maintain her independence and quality of life through the Covid pandemic. In addition, the family would like to thank the staff of Mission Hospice in San Mateo who kept Rita comfortable in her final days.
At Rita's request, no services are being held. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.
