ROBERT GARLAND Obituary

Robert D. Garland, Sr.
09 Sep 1918 - 16 Sep 2012
Robert went home to his Heavenly Father, peacefully on Sunday Morning after a short illness. A veteran of WW II he served his nation as a Machinist Mate 2c. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, companion and friend. He enriched the lives of all who knew him and saw his brilliant smile, twinkling eyes, and experienced his sparkling wit. In a Galaxy of stars, some shine brighter than others, Robert was one of the brightest and his light will continue to shine on all those who knew him for light years to come.
Services will be held at Crosby N. Gray, 2 Park Road, Burlingame, at 9:30 AM followed by burial, with military honors, at Skylawn Cemetery at 11:30 AM on Friday, September 21, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.com

Today I have read another good friend has left us. There was nobody like Gar.
He was a dear freind for over 50 years and he will always be a special person in my life. Those who worked at Dean Witter with Gar all loved and respected him. They do not make them like Bob Garland anymore.
