I have many fond memories of working with Bob during my FP&A days at Varian. Hard to imagine him gone; even harder to picture him with anything less than overflowing energy and self-confidence. So long, friend.

Bob was one of the first Execs I worked with in my career. His ability to maintain an even keel and stay focused, all the while keeping things in perspective with his keen sense of humor, even in the most difficult of situations, had a profound impact on me then and still today. Thanks Bob...you will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I was one of the first participants in the Varian Finance Rotational program that Bob started in 1984 and he and that program definitely had a major impact on my career. He was a wonderful mentor, boss and friend. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Bob was a fantastic person to work with. His good humor was infectious, and even the most difficult issues were easier when you were working with Bob. I will always remember him very fondly.
