Robert Tunheim Obituary

Robert Nels "Bob"
Tunheim

March 3, 1927 - June 13, 2014

Friday, June 13th was a beautiful, bright, sunshine filled day when Bob Tunheim's ship set sail for Valhalla.
Born on March 3, 1927 to Nels and Ruth Tunheim, Bob was a life-long San Franciscan, known for his sense of humor and the twinkle in his eye. In his teen years, Bob apprenticed as an upholsterer and found a career that would span almost seventy years. Bob was a veteran of World War II and life member of the Sons of Norway, Henrik Ibsen Lodge and Norwegian Club of San Francisco.
Pre-deceased by his parents Nels and Ruth Tunheim, sisters Betty Selmer (Bob) and Doris Berven (Ken), Bob is survived by his wife of sixty-four years Aud, sons Richard (Maureen), Ronald and Robert John "Sam" (Kellie), daughter Carol, grandchildren Kristin, Ryan, Meagan, Luke, Molly, Josh and Ross, great-grandaughters Rachel and Mikayla, numerous nieces/nephews and many friends who enriched his 87+ years.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Coming Home Hospice, especially Lenis and Charlie, for the loving care given to Bob during his final days.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Norwegian Club of San Francisco, 1900 Fell Street, San Francisco, at 1:00pm.
In memory of Bob, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Peder P. Johnsen Scholarship Fund, 850 Upland Dr., San Francisco, CA. 94127-2540 or Norwegian Club of San Francisco Building Fund, 1900 Fell Street, San Francisco, CA. 94117.
