Ron passed away peacefully April 16, 2013. He was a proud native of San Francisco was born October 12, 1948. Beloved son of the late Samuel Van Pool and Theresa Molinari McKean; loving brother of Sharon Molinari Reyes and her husband Arlindo Reyes. Ron will be dearly missed by his love, "honey bunny", Juliet Loremas. Also survived by his nephews, John Kiesel and Scott Kiesel and his wife Romina, dear uncle of Kaitlin and Giuliana and survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ron was a graduate of St. Emydius Grammar School and Riordan High School, Class of 1967 and attained his Bachelor of Science degree. He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam War veteran and served 4 years. Ron was a proud San Francisco Fire Fighter for 39 years and taught Fire Science at City College of SF. He loved his faithful German Shepherds: Duke, Missy, Strider, Queenlynn, Gretchen and Princess. As the Godfather of our family, Ronnie looked forward to family dinners. He loved his Shasta house, boating and fishing with his firefighting friends. The family remembers attending the grand opening of Disneyland in 1955, and Ronnie being approached by Walt Disney himself, who had lunch with Ronnie and invited him to come to work at the park playing Huckleberry Finn, but his mom said no.
Ronnie embraced life with his hardy laugh and great sense of humor but also stood his ground for what he believed to be the truth. Ronnie's "inner spirit" remains in our hearts and we will always remember his "woof".

Ron. I just found out the news today from a friend of yours at Pete's. :( I held back my tears until I reached my car. I had been wondering where you were, and had assumed you were up at Shasta, enjoying beautiful weather. I was looking forward to talking to you about Big Foot! ;) I greatly enjoyed all of our random conversations at Petes and I looked forward to seeing you there before I went to work early on the weekends. I miss you. I know you are enjoying Heaven already. I look forward to seeing you another time. Love Always, *Linz*

I've not spoken to Ron since High School but I remember him as a level headed and focused individual. While it does not seem that long ago, I regret losing contact over the years.

I was a teammate and classmate with Ron at Riordan. A fine young man back then who obviously developed into a better man as time went on. When I think of Ron, I smile, he had what I call an impish sense of humor. I am so sorry for his passing.
