Samuel Santora Obituary

Samuel Joseph Santora Sam, 84, was born at home to the late Antonio and Christina Santora in Des Moines, IA, January 1, 1927. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24th from heart failure. In 1944 he moved out to San Francisco where he lived throughout his life. Sam was the Owner/operator of Purity Dry Cleaners, and Santora Supply Co., 825 Valencia St. San Francisco. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma J. Santora, his three children Lauren Irwin (Lee) and their two children Luke and Logan of Martinez, Mark Santora of San Francisco, Michele Marsh and her children, Matthew, Malena and Monica of San Bruno, and their mother Midge (Santora) Franusich; step children, Alyce Williams (David) and their son David James of Stockton and James Brouwer of Santa Barbara and his daughter Andrea of San Jose; and adopted son, Roger Wong of San Francisco. A celebration of Sam's life will be held for friends and family at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1111 O'Farrell St., S.F., CA, Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 11:00 am. Donations can be made in Sam's name to: The American Heart Association, or Sisters of Charity, BVM, 1100 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, IA. Sam thoroughly enjoyed his life in San Francisco and all the wonderful stories that went with it. For anyone who knew Sam, he truly "did it my way." Sam brought much joy and love to everyone he met. We will miss him immensely.
