Sandra Haug Obituary

Sandra Haug
January 4, 1942 - June 25, 2023
Sandra Haug was born to Samuel and Hazel Hayes in Rhode Island on January 4, 1942, and passed from this world during the early morning hours of June 25, 2023, in South San Francisco, CA. She was attended to by both her youngest daughter and the devoted staff of Aegis Living. Surviving her are her sister Anna Alvarado (nee Nastrini), her daughters Katherine MacKay Nelson (Joe Nelson) and Jennifer Haug, her grandsons Alex Osborn, John MacKay, Frankie Nelson, and her great grandson Riley Osborn, Alex's son.
As a young girl Sandra's family (her mother and stepfather Richard Nastrini) had moved to the Merced District of San Francisco. She graduated from Lincoln High School (San Francisco) before she met her husband James Haug through her stepfather. She began her married life in May 1962, living in San Francisco before moving to Pacifica to raise her two daughters Katherine and Jennifer. Sandra and her husband James cherished each other, their family and community, working earnestly to be supportive to each. Sandra's life in Pacifica included devotion to her community and her church. At the church of the Good Shepherd, she with her husband provided catechist education, ministry, and community outreach, and with the help of the Knights of Columbus. Sandra had also worked as office administration at Bernie Wiesner and Associates in the Furniture Mart in San Francisco, Fortune Financial Bank in San Mateo, and with the Butchers Union in South San Francisco. After James' passing on December 31, 2017, she lived independently until her medical decline. While the world changed for her, she was consistently a strong and generous lady who did love good company, her family, and friends. She is loved by many. She will be remembered and missed.
Family and Friends are invited to attend the viewing on Thursday July 13, at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m at Church of the Good Shepherd on 901 Oceana Blvd., Pacifica, CA. The funeral mass will be on Friday July 14 at 11 a.m. at the same church.
