Sebastian Billante Obituary

Sebastian Billante November 24,1923 - August 21,2008 Sebastian Billante passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2008 at the age of 84. Born on the island of Marretimo in Sicily, Sebastian moved to San Francisco when he was 13 and lived there ever since. He was a commercial fisherman who worked out of Fisherman's Wharf for 50 years, where his boat "Lenore B" was docked. Sebastian is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rose; his son Frank (Elizabeth); and his two grandchildren Alessandra and Gianluca. He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Lenore. He is also survived by three brothers, Vince (Joyce), Frank (Andrea) and Salvatore; his aunt Virginia; aunts, uncles and cousins in both Monterey and Italy. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm with a rosary at 7pm at Halsted N. Gray-Carew & English, 1123 Sutter St., SF. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30am at SS Peter and Paul Church, 666 Filbert St., SF. A private Interment will follow. Hi I would like to say I am sorry for your loss. I think we may be related are name was originally spelled with an i is my understanding my grandfather was filepo bellante and he had 3 brothers my dad is antonino his bothers were sabastion and frank we called him butch his sisters are Jenny and rose my doughter Mia is trying to figure this stuff out any insight whould be appresiated. our hole family is from north beach and all were in the fishing bussiness my grandfathers boat was the exposition king and my uncles was the alvina marie my dads memory isn,t what it once was I am sure there must be some conection if you have any input let me know again I am so sorry.
