It is almost a year, hard to believe. Shirley's home, up the street from mine,
looks very lonely. God Bless her.

Shirley was a talented, funny and caring friend. Not only did we enjoy Altrusa activities, we also spent time together at Hospice, sharing memories of loved ones. Shirley was honest and open and you always knew what she was thinking because she told you.She is missed for so many reasons. We hold you in our hearts, Shirley.

Knowing Shirley was a real inspiration. She was so talented with her hands and so artistic in everything she did....striking, softly evocative paintings. She had a great sense of humour which came through in her beautifully handmade dolls. Always kind, thoughtful, generous and hard working, Shirley was a model Altrusan and we were fortunate to have her as a member of our Nanaimo organization.

I send you my blessings. I was fortunate enough to receive one of Shirley's paintings from an Altrusa fund raiser and will forever treasure it.
Sincerely, Vicki Calder (Fellow Altrusian)

Shirley was such a vibrant member of the Altrusa Club. She made us howl with laughter at the Christmas Party with her magic trick of placing a paper napkin over her face. When we needed a professional-looking banner, Shirley produced one in record time. We shall miss your zest for life, my Dear. God bless.
