Stella Celeste entered into rest on July 1, 2017. Born September 12, 1916 in San Francisco. She was 100 years old. She lived in the Portola District of San Francisco for 94 years. She spent her final years as a resident of Fremont Village. She was a very dear lady caring for her children and grandchildren throughout her wonderful life. Everyone who knew her or met her commented about the care and love she showed each and every person. She loved her husband and maintained a beautiful home for them over the years. Gardening was a natural gift for her. Her favorite hobby was knitting and crocheting. Friends and family received many handmade blankets from her. Stella was proud and honored to lead the daily morning Rosary group at St Elizabeth's Church.She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Celeste in 2004, but remained devoted to him and his memory. Loving mother of Joseph R Celeste (deceased), Raymond Celeste(deceased), Robert and Judy Celeste. Predeceased by her brothers Paul and William Januyke. Beloved grandmother of Steven, Timothy, David, Ryan, Michael, Kori Celeste and Gina Barber. Great grandmother of 8 children.
Chapel Service will be held on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 4:00pm, With visitation starting at 2pm. Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd. Fremont Ca 94536. A private burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. In Lieu of flowers please make a donation to Bay Area Rescue Mission.

Dear Celeste Family,
I have fond memories of the Celeste family and in particular, Stella, as she was such a sweet lady. I always remember her walking on Holyoke Street stopping to chat on her way to the store.
My deepest sympathy to you on her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
