Stephen Frisch Obituary

Stephen Frisch June 15, 1936 - September 27, 2007 Born in Philadelphia and raised in New Jersey, he attended Rutgers University for two years and then enlisted in the Army, studying German at the Army Language School in Monterey. Stephen served in the Army Security Agency and was stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he attended NYU and graduated with a B.A. in English. In June, 1964, Stephen started a commercial photography studio in the Industrial Center Building in Sausalito. His freelance career included regular assignments for TIME. The page www.sfrisch.com/info.html outlines more of his professional accomplishments. Stephen was a consummate Renaissance man. He could make or fix anything and had encyclopedic knowledge. All who knew him appreciated his direct approach to life and wry sense of humor. He enjoyed woodworking and together with his wife Nancy built their family floating home in Sausalito, where Stephen passed away, surrounded by nature and loved ones. He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 31 years; their devoted son Noah; his daughter Deborah Gray; grandson, Lawrence Gager; granddaughters, Kye Stapleton-Gray and Chloe Stapleton-Gray. A celebration of Stephen's life will be held on Sunday, October 28th at 2:00 PM at the Sausalito Cruising Club. Donations in Stephen's memory may be made to the ALS Association, 565 Commercial St., 2nd Floor, SF, CA 94111.

Nancy -- I never met Stephen, but I saw his name and knew it must be your husband. My heart goes out to you and Noah, and to all who knew him and will miss him. God bless you.
