Stephen Paris Obituary

Stephen Paris
01/08/1946 - 04/24/2024
Stephen Michael Paris passed away in Walnut Creek on April 24, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Beth Daley Paris; son, Michael Paris; daughter-in-law, Kelsey Paris; stepdaughter, Jennifer Clayton; and grandchildren, Megan, Kaley, and Jameson. He was also a loving uncle to multiple nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him.
Steve was born on January 8, 1946, to Lawrence Laudell Paris and Mary Agnes O'Brien Paris. He was the eldest of six children.
He was raised in San Francisco, attended Riordan High School and went on to the University of San Francisco, where he majored In Economics. He spent his career in the I.T. industry, with most of his time in various leadership roles working for Bechtel and then retiring at IKON. He was viewed as a selfless leader and innovator within his industry.
His volunteerism was very important to him, second only to his family. He dedicated years of his time to St. Vincent de Paul. During most of his retirement, Steve acted as President, only stepping back when his health could no longer support his efforts.
Steve will be greatly missed by his family, as well as the friends he developed through his volunteerism, his career, and his retirement. He was a generous and giving man. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Vincent de Paul chapter at Christ the King Church Pleasant Hill.

Stephen was my classmate in primary school and for our first year of high school together at St. Joseph's in Mt. View, CA. Stephen was an interesting and engaging person, active and a good listener. I met with him several times in the last 10 or so years at our reunions and I am sorry to hear that he passed. He was a person of substance.

I was honored to play trivia with Steve at King's X bar in Oakland and Farrington's in Pleasant Hill since mid 1980's.He was a fine player and he was a key player on the winning team with me two years ago in annual tournament. We had a mutual respect in our sports knowledge and he was kind and supportive of my love for Michigan sports team.I will always have a positive remembrance of Steve.R.J. Tincknell San Francisco.

Before I moved to Oakland 4 years ago, I spent may hours volunteering at St Vincent´s and supporting other cause with Steve .
He was a giving and faith filled man who strongly believed in living as his faith taught him to di. I´m sure he is now resting in peace with God.
