Thomas Trammell Obituary
03/22/1935 - 08/01/2025
Thomas Raymond Trammell, Jr., affectionately known as "Sonny" to his family, passed away August 1st, 2025 at the age of 90 in San Rafael, Ca. He was born on March 22, 1935 in San Francisco, Ca to Thomas R. Trammell, Sr. and Josephine Trammell. He graduated from Sonoma State University in 1971 with a degree in American Literature and Folklore. He owned a successful hardwood flooring company, Trammell Floor Co., for over 30 years. He served all of the North Bay. In his retirement, he volunteered with the National Parks of the San Francisco Bay area, contributing countless hours and aiding a number of historical discoveries with the Presidio Archaeology Lab. He is survived by his sister Carol Vance. Additionally, two daughters, Jacki Nelson and Suzanna Wash as well as three grandchildren, Sean Luttrell, Maddie Nelson and Reid Nelson. Since Tom was a well read man and one of philosophical thought, his family would like to share one of his favorite quotes which rings true in all seasons: "Believe nothing you hear, and only half that you see".
A gathering to honor "Tom" will be held on Sunday, September 21st at San Rafael Joe's from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. We welcome all friends and family.
