Tick Mui Memoriam

Tick Lin Mui
October 4, 1930 - February 6, 2025
Our 94-year-old aunt, Mui Tick Lin (Tick Yee), passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025. She was born on October 4th, 1930 in Canton (now Guangzhou), China, the youngest in a family of 17 siblings. She had a happy childhood that was interrupted by the Japanese invasion of Canton in 1938. After World War II ended, Tick Yee attended university until she moved to Hong Kong in the early 1950s. She immigrated to San Francisco in 1958 where she had a successful career as a bookkeeper.
In 1967, Tick Yee sponsored the immigration of her mother, Lai Sang Lee Mui, and her sister, our mother, Kung Lin, our father, Ki Yim Ho, and their 3 children to the United States. We lived together in San Francisco and then in San Bruno. Tick Yee entered Fook Hong Care Home after our parents passed in 2017.
Tick Yee was kind-hearted, cheerful, and energetic; often taking friends and family under her wings as they arrived in California. She enjoyed painting Chinese landscapes, playing mahjong, and always dressed stylishly.
The family had many adventures with Tick Yee as the "fun" aunt. She traveled extensively with family and friends, enjoying trips throughout the US and cruises to Alaska, Europe, South America, Mexico, and Asia. Tick Yee regularly traveled to Toronto, Canada, to visit her best friend, Connie Lui.
She is survived by her nephew Hansel (Hans) Ho, and daughter-in-law Janet Ho of Antioch, CA; niece Rosanna (Roz) Ho and her fiancé Jack Daulton of Los Altos Hills, CA; niece Betty Ho and son-in-law Alvin Rozal. She is also survived by many other nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. Tick Yee will be missed by all her beloved family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 2, at 12:30pm, at the Cypress Lawn Cemetery, Tiffany Chapel in Colma, California. Friends and family are invited to join.

February 26, 2025

I would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Ho family on behalf of my Mom (Kwai Wong, sister of Connie Lui and Aunt Tina's best friend) and my family.
We have wonderful memories of Tick Yee. She visited Toronto often especially during the years in the 1990's to keep my Aunt Connie company while Aunt Connie took turns with her siblings to care of my aged grandmother in Picton.
Aunt Tina always had a ready smile and an infectious sense of humor. She was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed.
We send our deepest sympathy.
Kind regards,
Haw-Jeng (Jenny) Wong Garrett and Greg Garrett (Trenton, Ont. Canada)
