Timothy Robertson McCracken
May 26, 1958--September 2, 2021
Tim McCracken, beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 2 at the age of 63. Tim was born at The Newport Naval Base, and grew up in Connecticut. Fairly soon after graduation from Waterford High School, he moved out to California, eventually settling in San Francisco. He built a construction company with his brother, Mike, and later started his own construction company in Marin. After some years, he segued to a successful career in the computer industry. He spent the past 5 years living and working in The Philippines, where he died.

Tim was an avid swimmer, golfer, and his biggest passion was cycling. Tim and his son, Tyler, enjoyed many years in the great outdoors cycling, camping, skiing and hunting together.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Blanche and Bill McCracken, and his stepmom, Bobette McCracken. He is survived by his son, Tyler McCracken, his brothers Michael (Maureen) and David McCracken, and his sister, Karen Murphy, whom he was especially close to. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Mechele Shiner-McCracken (Deborah), Christine Browning, Ben Benton (Maria), Tim Benton (Lauren), Gillian Murphy, and their families. He is also survived by his step-siblings: Susan Green (Brian), Clay Burkhalter (Gleanna), Wendy Eck (David), Heather Bessette (Stephen), Holly Bosman (Michael), and their families. He is survived by his cousins Betty O'dea (Dan) and Michael Scanlon. He is also survived by his former wife, Michele Bowes, and her daughter, Margeaux Lyons. He is survived by dear friends in Marin, Waterford and Stonington, CT., and The Philippines, especially, Skipper and Jake. Tim's ashes will be scattered in these places, as well as in S.F. by his family.

Mike, David, and Karen, I'm so sorry to hear of Tim's death. I remember your family as next door neighbors on Shore Road in Waterford, and especially your parents. Mike, you and your Dad Bill used to play with us neighborhood kids in our front yard. Good memories.
