Timothy Pidgeon Obituary

Timothy Patrick Pidgeon
May 14, 1956 - July 22, 2022
1956 - 2022
After a valiant fight with the rare and aggressive cholangiocarcinoma, Timothy Patrick Pidgeon died peacefully at home surrounded by his adoring immediate family on July 22, 2022. Tim was born May 14, 1956 to loving parents James Matthew Pidgeon and Mary Helen Cruise Pidgeon. He is survived by his wife, of 35 years, Alice, daughter Shannon, son Ryan, mother Mary Helen, siblings Jim (Virginia), John, Elena (Grant), four nephews and one niece.
Tim grew up in Westlake and summered in nearby Marin County. He attended Our Lady of Mercy ('70), St. Ignatius College Preparatory ('74), and College of Marin. He graduated from San Francisco State University ('79) with a BS in Small Business Administration and Management followed by an MBA from the same institution in 1981. Tim began his career in the investment industry by working alongside his father at Bateman Eichler Hill Richards. Over his distinguished 40-year career, he ascended to Managing Director-Investments and Premier Advisor while building The Pidgeon Group of Wells Fargo Advisors from a trusted family practice to a loyal team achieving #30 Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors (2022). Anyone who worked with Tim knows that he was devoted to the needs and lives of his multi-generational client base.
Tim had a passion for soccer - actively playing in high school, college and for Bay Area semi-professional teams. He helped expand the Mill Valley Soccer Club from a local resource into a club sharing international exchange programs with clubs in Sweden, England and Germany. While playing internationally, he visited White Hart Lane and forged a lifelong loyalty to his beloved "Spurs". He co-founded and operated soccer camps, refereed, and later coached both of his children's soccer teams in Marin.
Tim was a proud member of The Olympic Club for 52 years. He served on SI's Board of Regents and Board of Trustees. He twice served on St. John's Episcopal Church Vestry, is an Officer for The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem and is a past President of the Greenbrae Property Owners Association (GPOA). Tim was a tactful fundraiser and faithfully served on the Development Committees for SI, St. John's, and The Order of St. John.
Tim set his roots in the Bay Area but through his natural curiosity he enthusiastically ventured to Europe, Asia and Central America over his lifetime. He found joy and serenity in the great outdoors. He was an America the Beautiful lifetime member, hiker, avid fisherman (fly and deep sea) and lover of natural beauty. If you ever dined with Tim, you know that he was a connoisseur of fine food and finer drink.
A Celebration of Life Service is planned for 2pm on Thursday September 22, 2022 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 14 Lagunitas Road, Ross, immediately followed by a reception at the nearby Marin Art & Garden Center (MAGC). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in Tim's memory to By the Bay Health, whose team provided exceptional hospice care and support to Tim and his family.

This reminder of Tim´s passing reminds me of how much I miss Tim. I miss hanging out on Manor Road with Tim and his brothers Jim and John, and his sister Elena. I miss Tim´s wonderful parents Jim and Mary. And I miss Tim and Alice visiting my parents Tony Sr and Lydia just across the street.

Sigh.

Oh no no no. This is just terrible news. I can´t even believe it. Tim looked healthy as ever at my mom´s (Lydia Deinies) memorial. Such sad sad news.

I´ve known Tim and the rest of the Pidgeon family for 60 years - starting from the time they first moved to Manor Road from Daly City in the summer of (I think) 1962. They´ve been like a second family to me.

I wish I´d known about this so I could have attended the memorial. Irony is that I used to read the obituaries in the SFChronicle but I stopped receiving the paper last summer.

I wish to extend my thoughts and deepest prayers to Mary Pidgeon, as well as to Jim, John, and Elena, plus Alice. Unfortunately, I do not have contact numbers for any of the Pidgeons.

Again, such unbelievably sad news. I feel a part of my life has been taken away.

Love you, Tim.

Such a shock to hear about Tim. I still have not, nor want to, process the thought of Tim being gone!! I have so many memories of playing together on the SF State and the MVFC soccer teams and them swimming in his parents pool after our games or going to the Mayflower for a beer!! Even more wonderful memories of working in downtown San Francisco when Tim first went to work with his dad at BEHR and gave me a tour of their offices. Who knew that years later, I would go into the same business and at the same firm (Wachovia Securities). Like the true friend and Gentleman that Tim was, he reached out to me and helped me with my career.

Tim will be greatly missed. My Condolences to the entire family!!

I was terribly saddened to learn the news today of Tim´s passing. Tim and I got to know each other through work on the St. Ignatius Board of Regents. That was my great good fortune, as what a wonderfully dedicated and centered gentleman he proved to be. Tim´s priorities were always just where they should be, on his beautiful family of whom he was so proud, his faith, his work and clients, and on the many causes dear to him, including of course his alma mater which he served with distinction for so many years, always with a pure heart and uncommonly good sense. I send my most sincere sympathy to all of Tim´s family. May God bless and keep him always. A.M.D.G.

We are at a complete loss for words. Tim was a most thoughtful and kind person. Always had a smile and amazing way of making you feel comfortable. His untimely passing has us in shock. Our deepest condolences to Alice and family for this enormous loss.

As my late grandmother's advisor (may she rest in peace), I always remember Tim as going way, way above and beyond what one would expect from a financial advisor/wealth manager. He was one of her trusted friends. His advice to her made a very concrete and substantial contribution to the choices I had available to me in my life as a younger man. He gave me a record as a gift ("Moodswing" by Joshua Redman, another Bay Area native) that I still listen to almost a quarter-century later -- and I still associate listening to it with Tim. Such was his warmth and charisma. May his family and loved ones find comfort.

Our family is so saddened by Tim's passing. He steadfastly advised three generations of my family as a financial advisor and in doing so became a trusted counsellor through all of our family's ups and downs.
