Tommy Angell Memoriam

Tommy F. Angell
Miss Tommy F. Angell, fondly known as Tommy, passed away in Berkeley, California on January 19, 2022, with her dear friends at her side.
She was born to loving parents Philip and Ethel Angell on May 6, 1924 in Berkeley, CA. Brother, Philip H. Angell, Jr. (deceased)
Tommy graduated from Berkeley High School and she continued her education at University of California, Berkeley, CA graduating in 1946 and her Master of Arts, 1947. Tommy attended University of Michigan, Law School in Ann Arbor, MI graduating in (Bachelor of Laws, 1950). Phi Beta Kappa.
Tommy Angell excelled as a student-athlete as she competed in 10 sports and was an All-Cal selection in six. Following graduation, Tommy competed nationally and internationally in both fencing and field hockey. In fencing, she represented the United States at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, the 1963 and '71 Pan American Games as well as the 1953 and '71 World Championships. She was a Pacific Coast Champion in 1964 and '65. In addition, she achieved honors in field hockey. Tommy was admitted to CAL sports hall of fame in 1980.
She was admitted to the California State Bar Association, then joined her father's law firm in San Francisco, in 1952. Miss Angell practiced law in San Francisco.
Miss Angell always enjoyed backpacking and world travel (bird watching).
She is survived by her nephew, Dirk Angell and many friends of all ages.
