TYLER HUBER Obituary

HUBER, SGT. TYLER JOHN -age 24 of Tacoma, WA, formerly of Knoxville, TN passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011. Sgt. Huber was actively serving in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Ranger with 3 tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has earned the Army Achievement Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, Parachute Badge, Ranger Tab, Joint Service Accommodation Medal, Afghan Campaign Medal and Iraqi Campaign Medal. Tyler was a 2005 graduate of West High School and attended the University of Tennessee. Red-headed Tyler was a firecracker with an adventurous, independent spirit who viewed life as a journey. He loved snowboarding, Jeep riding, swimming, and cooking (even making his own sushi). Tyler also played the cello with the Knoxville Youth Symphony. With Tyler's kind heart, he was everyone's champion, caring for people and animals alike. He looked out for the "little guys" and often took in stray cats and dogs. He never met a stranger; he could start a conversation with anyone. Once you were Tyler's friend, you were a friend for life. He was planning a career in social work. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Norris Ann Smith and Elizabeth Huber and beloved uncle, John C. Smith III. Tyler is survived by his mother, Sabrina Smith of Knoxville, formerly of Boone, Iowa; father, Paul Huber; brother and sister-in-law, Zachary and Jennifer Huber; grandfathers, John C. Smith and Daniel J. Huber; niece, Sadie Huber and many friends and comrades. The family will receive friends 5 to 6:45 p.m. on Sunday at Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends will gather at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at East Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville for graveside services with Full Military Honors conferred by the U S Army. Ty, you..... well you are still my first love the one who really stole my heart in all honesty, I smile daily when i think about you and the times we had.... yet i cry when i remember how much i really miss you and hate not seeing your smile, feeling your hugs and hearing you laugh..... because (you loved so much to pick on me lol then crack up about it haha) id give anything for it to have you back. I still have ty and our infinty symbol tattooed so in this weird odd way its like still me and you forever. i love you mucho my Ty <3

Tyler rode in our carpool to West High. I loved driving that car full of boys around.Tyler was always the life of the group and was great at playing practical jokes and keeping the conversation entertaining. I am so sorry he is gone and I pray for God's blessings and comfort to your family.

Sgt. Tyler John Huber was such an incredibly kind-hearted gentleman. With such a great smile and personality, he was able to touch the lives of many people. He will never be forgotten by those who had the chance to meet him. He definitely had a way of making all of his friends feel very special to him. I am so blessed to have had many, many joyful memories with him. Words can't describe how much he meant to me. I love you Sgt. Tyler John Huber. You will forever have a place in my heart!

I remember Tyler as that red-headed kid down the street that lit up a room with his smile. He grew into a fine young man who served his country with pride and dignity. I have not seen my daughter so happy in a very long time. Tyler gave Jodi life and laughter. She is grieving for this great person that gave her so much in such a short time. He will be soooo missed and I am sorry I did not have a chance to meet him.

Tyler, you were crazy, entertaining, and amazing with my daughters. Racheal still calls you 'Uncle Tyler'. You are missed immensely, and loved even more. Tyler my friend, you will be missed. The good times we had though! The hot wing challenge, the parties, the bike rides we used to take… the time I almost decked your bike lol. So many good memories in such a short time bro. You will be missed, we'll see you in the after life!
