Vera Payne Flanagan

Vera Payne Flanagan Died on October 30, 2009 in Santa Rosa from pneumonia. Vera was born on September 21, 1923 in London, England and attended Sarum Hall. She served in the British Navy as a Petty Officer during World War II where she met her husband Michael Brendan Flanagan. They married in 1947 and lived in London, England before immigrating in 1953 to San Francisco where Vera was an avid lover of the opera, ballet, and symphony. In 1982, after raising 3 children, they moved, to her favorite vacation spot Carmel, CA where they remained until moving to Oakmont in 2006. Vera lived every day with a smile and a generous spirit. Vera is survived by her husband Michael, her children Michael A. Flanagan and his wife Jamie of Santa Rosa, Amanda Pfafflin and her husband Larry of Chicago, IL, and Veronica Flanagan of San Francisco, and her grandchildren, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Brendan, Maureen, & Kevin. Friends are invited to attend Funeral Mass on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Star of the Valley, 545 White Oak Drive, Santa Rosa. Interment, Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Evening Vigil Rites will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa.
