Veronica McLaughlin Obituary

Veronica H. McLaughlin August 19, 1920-September 27, 2006 Passed away peacefully after a long illness at the age of 86. Veronica was born in San Francisco, CA and spent her childhood years there. She attended Lowell High School and went on to UC Berkeley. With the outbreak of World War II she enlisted in the Air Corps and there she met her husband to be Samuel A. McLaughlin. There were married and settled in Los Altos, CA to raise their two daughters. Veronica had a kind and giving heart. Never quick to judge she embraced all whom she met. She loved to read and passed that love on to her children. Travel was a passion and she saw much of the world in her long life. One of Veronica's greatest gifts was the quality to make those around her feel loved and cared for. Never asking much in return she gave freely of herself. All those whose lives she touched were made that much better by her generosity of spirit. Veronica is survived by her daughter Denna McLaughlin of San Francisco and her two grandsons, Ben and Luke Hinchcliffe of Australia and her sister Anne Rapley of Woodside. She is preceded in her death by her husband Samuel and her eldest daughter Windy. The family will conduct private Services. Contributions in Veronica's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
