Coach was the one who showed me that endurance was important in life thru cross country and track. Yes he was tough on us all but he prepared us for life ahead. Thank you coach!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach Daskarolis was the guiding inspiration for me and many of my teammates. He taught us to do our best in every aspect of our lives. Coach respected our efforts and taught us to be proud of ourselves. His memory will serve as a blessing to everyone who knew him.

Coach Daskarolis was my very first track coach in what ended up being for me a successful college track career. He was a pleasure to have been coached by and was always a positive person on the track. I would not have been successful at track if he had not opened the door for me and given me confidence in my abilities. He will be missed.

Mr. D - Was an important voice in my life at a volatile time. He provided me with confidence and guidance to be the person capable of being. I miss him.

That was very well written, Dan Sullivan, I couldn't agree more. You were a little before my time at Aragon but I have the same memories of Coach Daskarolis so he must not have changed at all. He will be missed by many.

So many memories of Coach Dasko ...
The post-season awards ceremonies he would emcee, making sure to say something special about every single athlete on the team.
Me staggering near the end of some cross-country race, going up some God-forsaken hill, on the verge of collapse, suffering near-death hallucinations - and Dasko standing there clapping and yelling "Looking good, Sully! Keep it up! Finish strong!"
The cross-country workouts just before the start of school, with Dasko volunteering unpaid time to shuttle us to Golden Gate Park, Half Moon Bay beaches, and Lake Merced, where we would soon find out whom among us (ahem) hadn´t kept up with their summer training.
I didn´t look to Coach Dasko to be a father figure or mentor, but he was certainly one of the finest gentlemen I´ve known and the epitome of the perfect high school coach, especially for sports like cross-country and track, in which no one gets cut and everyone participates.
Coach - may the wind be at your back as you run a Heavenly 3R wearing the #1 Red-Hot windbreaker.

My condolences to Coach Daskarolis's family. I was privileged to have him as a PE teacher in the late 1970s, and with his encouragement, ran track and cross country. Really appreciated all I learned from him and his support to us students.

The story is about my first 2 mile time trials, when I came in 43rd out of 43 kids going out for the track team. After the trials, you brought us all into the coach´s room and showed us the freezer full of cream-sickles. You told us that it didn´t matter where we ended on the list, because we were only racing against ourselves, to be the best we could be. Every time we beat our PRs, we got a cream-sickle, and I got one nearly every week. You were the best and most important teacher I ever had. You helped me to create a reasonably high self-esteem, and gave me the courage and belief that I can do just about anything that I set out to do with my life. Since your passing, I have been in touch with many of your students, and they all learned the same lesson as me; just strive to be the best version of yourself in every endeavor, and you can be proud of yourself. Rest in Peace, Coach.
