William O'Neill Obituary
September 28, 1943 - March 31, 2023
Bill passed away suddenly at his La Selva Beach, California home on Friday March 31,2023.
A fourth generation San Franciscan, he was born on September 28,1943 to Dick and Peg O'Neill. He attended Epiphany Grammar School, Lick-Wilmerding High School, City College of San Francisco, San Jose State and University of California Berkeley. Bill was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a Highway Patrol Officer for thirty-one years serving in Baldwin Park and the Santa Cruz area. He devoted over 10 years to the La Selva Beach Volunteer Fire Department.
Bill was an avid golfer who loved playing with family and friends and cruising in his beloved corvette.
Bill was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 41 years Sue O'Neill. He is survived by his children Sherryl, Tracy and Sean O'Neill, his sister Terry O'Neill, and his grandson Will O'Neill.
All are welcome to a celebration of Bill's life which will take place on Saturday April 8th, 2023, at 2 pm at La Selva Beach Clubhouse 314 Estrella Avenue, La Selva Beach, California 95076. Immediately followed by refreshments at the same location.
The family requests in place of flowers donations be made to Autism Tennessee, 955 Woodland St, Nashville, TN 37206, Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 940 Disc Dr, Scotts Valley, CA 95066 or a charity of your choice.

Working with Bill was some of my best state service years!
He was a CHP 555 Collision Report Guru and a fine mentor of being not right, but CORRECT!! He was a good friend with a wry sense of humor to go along with a perpetual twinkle in his eye and ever present lil smirk. I will miss seeing and visiting with Bill at our retirees lunches. It was always so good to see him.
