First, my condolences (late at they are) to the family of Dr. Thordason. What a beautiful human being and great doctor he was to me and our family, not to mention his nurse (Mary). Dr. Thordason had such a great "bedside" manner and was especially kind toward the children. In some ways, his mannerisms reminded me of Mister Roger's (Mister Rogers Neighborhood).
I often thought fondly of Dr. Thordason and Mary over the years and wondered what happened to him after mom switched to a new doctor in Covina until I came across this obituary. I am glad to hear that he passed peacefully, lived a long life, had a love of his life, family, and patients like me who loved him (and Mary).

My sister just sent this to me. He was our whole family Doctor. I was born in 1961 and he was my doctor into my 20s. He was a great doctor and family friend.

Our family was so sad to hear of Dr. Thordarson's death. He was such a nice man and a great doctor. He was our family doctor from the 60's (in El Monte) and we moved with him to West Covina when he moved that direction. We appreciated his personal care and good doctoring, and his sense of humor. We enjoyed his stories from bits about his family to tales about his horses. We know he lived a good long life, but we also know that he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He's in a better place now and I'm sure he's keeping an eye on us all.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of this wonderful man. He was my family doctor from the 1960's until the mid 1980's. He was much more than a family physician, but a friend who always made all of his patients feel special. I fondly remember him and his nurse Mary and the wonderful care I received from them. May God Bless him and his family.
