Cook, Douglas G S

Douglas George Sewell Cook, 75, of Sheboygan, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his home. He was born on July 6, 1941 in Washington D.C. to Calvin and Mary Delores (Keyes) Cook. Doug attended UW Madison and graduated from UW Whitewater with a Degree in Marketing and Business Administration. Doug proudly served in the Army from 1966 to 1968, during Vietnam and was stationed in Cameron Bay serving in records. In 1967 he received Outstanding Soldier while stationed in San Antonio, TX. Doug was a sales and marketing manager working at the Kohler Company, HG Weber, and in 2003 he retired from the Toro Company. On September 3, 1994 he was united in marriage to Carmen Feitusch in Sheboygan. He was an Eagle Scout, was the waterfront director at Camp Tesomas Boy Scout Camp in his high school and college years. He was also the waterfront director at the Lions Camp for the Blind in Stevens Point. Very active in his community, Doug was a Big Brother, promoted the Sheboygan Boxing Club, and was active in the Hmong Association. He enjoyed photography, and submitted several photos to the press under the name submitted photo. He was a talented wood carver, enjoyed taking hikes, his flower gardens, feeding the ducks on the river below his house, and being outdoors with his dogs Charlie and Shamus. Doug's passion was being a father, he loved his children and grandchildren and supported them in all they did. He was also an inventor and was working on a new camping popcorn popper. A lover of music Tchaikovsky, Sons of the Pioneer, and Irish music were some of his favorites. He was an avid Brewers and Packer fan and was recognized by many just by the driving cap he wore.

Doug is survived by his children; Joel (Beth) Wonicker-Cook of Palm Harbor, FL, Stacy (Patrick) Schaefer of Sheboygan, Kristin (Scott) Krebsbach of Sheboygan, step-children; Katherine Austin of Janesville, and Michaele (Matthew) Mullen of Adell, by grandchildren; Lauren and Erica Wonicker-Cook, Maricel, John, and Hannah Schaefer, Emily and Tyler Krebsbach, Nathan, AnaBeth , and Alexa Lucas, and Orion and Jackson Mullen., by siblings; Dennis (Sara) Cook of Franklin, TN, Terrence Cook of Pullmann, WA Carole (Tom Bittner) Radeztsky of Marshfield, Jeffrey (Janet) Cook of Fridley, MN, and Sharon Cook of Milwaukee, by mother-in-law Mary Daehn , and sisters-in-law Judy Feitusch and Marie (Don) Hausler all of Sheboygan, special friends Billy Xiong and Gaston Yang, also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Barbara (Cook) Booher, and his father-in-law Martin Feitusch.

A celebration of Doug's life will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Jaycee Quarry View Center, 3401 Calumet Dr. Sheboygan. Please wear your best Brewers or Packers shirt.

We worked at Kohler together for many years and he was instrumental in getting me into tennis which I still enjoy. A friend and man of the right words he leaves a lot of good works behind. An example to be emulated.
