Eleanor Borchardt Obituary
Eleanor "Ellie" Cecelia Anne Borchardt, age 85, of Sheboygan, died on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at her home. She was born in Kenosha, WI, on November 22, 1930, she was the daughter the late Martin and Antoinette Klimas Balcaitis.
She attended local schools in Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1947. Eleanor then graduated from UW-Madison with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education in 1951. She furthered her education at UW-Milwaukee earning her Master's in Educational Psychology in 1968.
On May 31, 1953, she was united in marriage to Robert Borchardt in Watertown, WI. Eleanor taught Mathematics in Markesan, WI, and then Sheboygan North and South High Schools. She enjoyed participating in her bridge clubs and quilting.
Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Sheboygan; three daughters, Jane (Richard) Lutz, of MN, Dianne (Kirk) Daniels, of CT, and Mary (John) Freeman, of IL; eight grandchildren, John (Jenna) Lutz, Joseph Lutz, Jim Lutz, all of MN, Chris (Ioana) Daniels, of Paris, France, Katherine (Amir) Masoud, of CT, Beth Freeman, Anna Freeman, Jackie Freeman, all of IL; one great-granddaughter, Layla Masoud; and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Ottmar, of Janesville, WI. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Martin D. Balcaitis.
A celebration of life for Eleanor will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan with Rev. Helen A. Nickel officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
Eleanor's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Aurora at Home Hospice team and the caregivers at Home Sweet Home Again, for the compassion and care she received. Hello "Borchardt" girls.
I ran across your mother's obituary when my daughter was house hunting in Sheboygan. I now live in Manitowoc County. My condolences to you on the passing of your sweet mother, Ellie. I remember spending many summer afternoons at your home playing board games and doing science projects with you, Diane, in DePere before you all relocated to Sheboygan county. Dear Bob and Kids, We just learned of Ellie's passing, we are so very sorry we missed her funeral. Please accept our deepest sympathies. Ellie was very proud of her family and we always received updates whenever we saw her. Ellie will hold a special place in our hearts.
