Pearl Janisse Obituary

Pearl E. Janisse, 87, Oostburg, died early Sunday morning, Sept. 25, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Sheboygan.

Pearl was born on Sept. 10, 1924, in Cedar Grove, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Madeline (Kolste) Nyenhuis. She attended Cedar Grove High School. On May 9, 1947, Pearl married the late Donald E. Janisse in Cedar Grove. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1998. Pearl worked at Musebeck Shoe Factory in Cedar Grove and at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan.

Pearl was a member of the First Reformed Church in Oostburg. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and visiting with friends and family. Pearl was very close to her nieces and nephews and considered them as her own.

Pearl is survived by her son, James, Oostburg; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Wayne) Ruesink, Cedar Grove; and Joyce Nyenhuis, Oostburg; one brother-in-law, Norman Janisse, Grafton; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; two brothers, Robert and John W. Nyenhuis; and a half brother, Roger Claerbout.

A funeral to celebrate Pearl's life will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, with the Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson.

Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.

A memorial fund is being established in her memory for the First Reformed Church and the Oostburg Ambulance.
