Escher, Ronald A.

Ronald A. Escher, age 78, of New Holstein, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 7, 2014.

He was born May 28, 1936, at the family home in New Holstein; a son of the late Clarence & Helen (Baer) Escher.

Ron attended Holy Rosary Catholic Grade School and New Holstein High School. He served in the Army February 8, 1956 to January 14, 1958.

On April 28, 1956, he married Jean Kopf at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton. Jean preceded him in death on April 12, 2010.

Ronald had worked at the Kohler Company until his retirement.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. He enjoyed doing his woodworking, hunting, and fishing. Ron also transported individuals to their various appointments and events. He is one of many Packer fans in Wisconsin.

He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl A. Escher of Sheboygan and Doreen L. Escher of New Holstein; his brother, Fred (Dorothy) Escher of Sun Prairie; his sister, Shirley (Dan) Lecher of New Holstein; his in-laws, Eugene Ruh, Charles Wolfgram, and Linda Escher all of New Holstein, Earl Morgen of Mount Calvary, Kenneth Schnell of Kiel, Art (Joyce) Kopf and John Weinreis both of Chilton; he is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence & Helen Escher; his wife, Jean; his sons, Dale & Gary Escher; his infant daughter, Anna Escher; seven sisters, Alice Derrick, Helen Morgen, Betty Escher, Virginia Schnell, Jean Wolfgram, Marion Schabach, and Dorothy Ruh; two brothers, Roger and Allen Escher; and his in-laws, Edwina (Russell) Gasch, Frances Weinreis, and Clara (Allen) Lintner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 1724 Madison Street New Holstein, WI 53061. Rev. Harold Berryman will officiate with Parish Director, Joe Zenk assisting. Military Rites conducted by the New Holstein American Legion Post 124 will take place in the church following the services. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home 2618 Altona Avenue in New Holstein on Friday, December 12th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at Holy Rosary Church Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM.

Dad truly enjoyed the people who came to visit him during his short stay at the nursing home and when he was in the hospital. Thank You to all those wonderful people.

My heart is breaking to hear of Ron's passing...Ron was my set-up man and friend at Kohler Co. for many years. I still have the wooden toys he made for my 3 sons when they were little. I know in my heart he has now joined Jean and Dale and Gary in Heaven and I pray that will give you all peace also...Hugs and Prayer's to You All, Sincerely,
