Scott Houpt Obituary

Scott P. Houpt

Random Lake - Passed away at the age of 49 from complications of diabetes and kidney disease. Scott was a dedicated family man, great father, loving son, best brother and devoted husband.

Scott loved his children with great abandon: a son and 3 daughters, watching their successes in all their sports, music and other extra curricular activities. Scott enjoyed racing and handed that bug down to the older kids with go karts racing, and later, Jordan raced motorcycles. Scott reveled in hearing from people "what a neat kid you have there". This fall, Scott was proud to see the post high school years take the older 2 girls off to college in Maine and looked forward to seeing them bo th succeed in their chosen careers. Scott was amazed by his youngest daughter's ability to learn various musical instruments and be successful academically.

Scott will forever be loved and missed by his wife, Deedee, son Jordan, daughters, Keegan, Sawyer, and Payton and stepson Christopher. Scott leaves a hole in the hearts of his parents Joan and Wayne Houpt, of Random Lake, his brother Joe (Kathryn) Houpt of Mequon, his sisters, Sandy (Jeff) Rath of Cedarburg, Mary Beth (Jeff) Weber of Grafton and Nancy Houpt of Port Washington. Scott will be missed by his nieces, Andrea Weber and Megan Houpt; nephews, Corey and Ryan Weber, Christopher and Nicholas Hansen, Aaron Houpt, Brian (Heidi) Rath and Steven Rath. Scott was great uncle to Ichabod, Annabella and Paige Rath. Scott will be sorely missed by his in laws Judy and Al Sumner, Chris (Lee) DaRonco, Bert (Suzanne) Sumner, step-nieces, Jamie DaRonco and Brandy Sumner, and step-nephews Jeremy and Jackson DaRonco. Mourning with his family are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, who were just like family.

Scott started worked at his parents' dealership in high school washing bikes. He worked his way up through parts, service, and, then into bike sales. Scott loved selling Harley Davidsons to many in the area, and strived to make the family dealership #1, not only in the state, but expanded BlockFest, the Milwaukee Rally and the Harley Davidson Anniversary parties hosted every 5 years. He loved motorcycle racing as a young man, ventured into car racing, sporting the #67H. Health issues prevented racing lately, though, he sponsored younger talent like Austin Wiese, Matt Berlin, Todd Jensema and Jimmy Bailey.

Scott left such an impression on those who met him, knew him and loved him. Scott leaves behind an unfillable void in the hearts of all who loved him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday November 3, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Mary's Chapel (230 Butler St. Random Lake, WI 53075) with Father Guy Gurath presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00AM to 1:45PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Project Angel Hugs of Plymouth, WI www.projectangelhugs.com , American Diabetes Association, The Kidney Smart Education Program www.kidneysmart.org , Adell Fire Department, Random Lake Fire Department, or to his children's education.

The family would like to thank the staff of Suburban Motors Harley Davidson who worked with Scott all these years and prayed for him when he wasn't feeling well. Thanks to all the medical staff, who cared for Scott the last days of his life.

There will be a "Remembrance Box" at the visitation. Guests are encouraged to write down their memories of Scott, so they may be presented to his children.
