Tecwyn Vance "Tec" Roberts

Tecwyn Vance "Tec" Roberts age 85 of rural Plymouth and North Fort Meyers, Florida went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 4, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan son of the late Evan and Ada (Vance) Roberts.

He attended grade school and after high school, he heard the call of his country and served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 being stationed in both Texas and Florida. After his years in the service he finished his education at the University of Toronto graduating in 1951.

On September 4, 1954 he married Sara Ann Hartman in New Brighton, PA.

Through out his working career he was a mechanical engineer holding many different positions including; Koppers Co. in PA, from 1951-1959, served as plant manager in Detroit from 1959-1963, Alside Corp., in Akron, OH from 1963- 1965, Stolle Corp in Sydney, OH from 1965-1967, Plant manager at Dart Container Corp in Aurora, IL from 1967-1977, and the founder Plymouth Foam Products in 1978. He was also very involved in many organizations including; the Plymouth Industrial Development Corp. where he served on the Board of Directors, the Republican Party of Sheboygan County, a member of Society Plastics Industries, where he also serving on the Board of Directors.

In his free time he enjoyed playing golfing and was a member at the Pine Hills Country Club. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife. For the past 22 years he was able to extend his golf game by spending his winters in Florida, where he was also very proud of his two holes-in-one. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends and nothing made him happier than being capitan on his pontoon boat on Crystal Lake.

He is survived by his loving wife Sara of Plymouth, a son Bradley (Laura) Roberts of Plymouth, two daughters-in-law Diana Roberts of Plymouth, Diana Shircel of Kohler, 8 grandchildren Megan Roberts, Tecwyn (Nicole) Roberts III, Martin Roberts, Evan Roberts, Sydney Roberts, Avery Roberts, Carli Roberts, and Steven Roberts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Vance and Scott Roberts, and a brother John.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 2 2011 at Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth with the Rev. James Hoppert, officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenbush Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 4 to 8 PM at the Schneider Funeral Home & Life Tributes in Plymouth and again on Friday at Church from 10 AM until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Tec Roberts for the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in the Town of Sheboygan Falls.
