Thomas Rothe Obituary

Thomas John Rothe, age 76, of Sheboygan, died on Monday, November 14, 2011, at Countryside Manor in Sheboygan. He was born in Sheboygan on September 12, 1935, the son of the late Thomas and Frances (Klopcich) Rothe.

Thomas attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1954. On February 8, 1958 he was united in marriage to Joan K. Meulbroek at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Thomas was a plumber for over 30 years and he was a plumbing inspector for the City of Sheboygan from 1990 to 1997. He was a current member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, American Legion Post 83 and a U.S. Army Reserves. Thomas was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Survivors include his wife, Joan, of Sheboygan, daughter, Laura(Phil) Stephens, of Cincinnati, Ohio, sons, Thomas M. Rothe, David(Peggy) Rothe, both of Sheboygan and by his eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Philip, Renee, Courtney, Greg, Elizabeth, Sarah and Andrew. Thomas is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Rothe,

A memorial service for Thomas will be held on Friday, November, 18, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan, with Rev. Glenn Powers, officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Thomas's name and should be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of Southeastern Wisconsin. A heartfelt thank you is extended the staffs at Countryside Manor and Hospice Advantage.

Joan my deepest sympathy on the passing of your husband.I know how you felt about him,I only knew tom for a short while,but it was a pleasure to help him with what little assitance he needed,he was a very independent man,and I believe that gave him dignity,and the respect he deserved.just to know that he is up in heaven,along with my mother who recently also passed,I hope they meet.I formely worked for country side until my mother needed full time care.you have my deepest sympathy and may god bless you and your family.sincerly Randy Raddatz

Joan, I remember the first time you and Tom came into my office and all the laughs we have had over the years. I think about the time when you had to make a decision on "how" to keep Tom "safe", and how hard that was. But most of all I think of all the love and care you had for Tom. I will miss him too, Joan. Take care and know that my door is always open for you.
