Florence Pesino
"Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister"
Florence "Rina" (DiMella) Pesino, age 92, of Waterbury, was reunited with her husband in heaven on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Cook Willow Health Center in Plymouth. She was the beloved widow of Edward R. "Chubby" Pesino who predeceased her in 2018.
Florence was born on April 18, 1933 in Waterbury, CT, a daughter of the late Giosue and Giuditta (Colitta) DiMella. Growing up in Waterbury, Rina was attended Waterbury Public Schools and was a graduate of Wilby High School. Being a devout and faithful Catholic, Rina was a longtime communicant of St. Lucy's Church in Waterbury, as well as a former member of their Holy Rosary Society. Rina was famously known for her delicious cookies that were baked with love. She always made sure to bake for all occasions from weddings, birthday parties, and everything in between. For over fifty years, Rina loves hosting all holidays, always keeping the door to her home open for everyone. Many beautiful memories were made over the years on family vacations, in particular to Wildwood and Vermont.
Florence leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Mark E. Pesino of Waterbury, Mary Elizabeth Zisk and her husband, William "Billy" of Bristol, Michelle Boisvert and her husband, Joseph of Thomaston, and her sister, Rosetta Orsatti of Thomaston, CT. She also leaves behind her grandchildren whom she absolutely adored, William Zisk Jr. and his significant other, Rachel Miller, Corrinda Cormier and her husband Corey, Cassandra Binnette and her husband George, Daniel Boisvert, her great grandchildren, Gabriella Zisk, Chase and Miles Cormier, Gio Binnette, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in Waterbury. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. A calling hour will be held on Friday morning from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, who has been entrusted with Rina's funeral arrangements.
