Sheryl Ann Schwier, 64, of Fountaintown, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born in South Bend, Indiana on July 11, 1957. She graduated from Triton-Central High School in 1975. On August 14, 1976, Sheryl married her high school sweetheart Roger Paul Schwier after a long courtship that began when she smiled at him while he was playing a game of Ping-Pong in the school gym.

She spent the majority of her career as a homemaker and the business manager on the family farm. Sheryl was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Palestine, where for many years she could be found volunteering in the school library. Sheryl loved her children and old friends, rainy days and rainbows, quiet Sundays with popcorn, the sound of the ocean, Christmas, a balanced checkbook, and anytime her husband wasn't in the fields. She welcomed in many a lost or abandoned animal. She also enjoyed traveling, drives through Brown County, collecting antiques including children's tea sets, and making desserts for her friends and family. She was a quiet, tough, selfless, independent and curious spirit, who could sometimes be a bit stubborn.

Sheryl quietly and courageously fought two forms of cancer since 2014, rarely complaining. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Roger Schwier; daughter, Carrie Schwier (husband, John Clark) of Bloomington, IN; son, Christian Schwier (wife, Shannon) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and brother, Robert "Buddy" Goff, Jr. (wife, Cindy) of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary (Criss) Goff; and birth mother, June Summers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 6513 W. 300 S., New Palestine, IN 46163. A funeral service will be held the next morning, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00am at the church. Pastor Jason Taylor will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine. For the safety of all, the family asks that those in attendance please wear a mask.

Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the James Cancer Center at OSU to support targeted cancer research or to Zion Lutheran Church to establish a memorial library fund. Please visit www. for contribution details. Envelopes will also be available at the church.

RIP my dear friend. Our daughters were close friends and classmates at Zion Lutheran school. Sheryl and I spent many summers together taking them to Camp Lakeview to summer camp. We always enjoyed each other's company no matter what we were doing. Our girls had sleepovers at each other's homes many times during their school years. I will truly miss our visits our conservations and being good friends. Rest now my friend in God's eternal peace. Love you Sheryl and Roger and Carrie and Christian.
