Amy Dedmon Obituary

LAWNDALE - Mrs. Amy Peeler Dedmon, 95, of 1606 Union Church Road, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at home.
Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Amie Peeler and Carrah Lee Dedmon Sain. She retired from the Cleveland County School System after 40 years of service as a teacher. Amy was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelby and a former Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed reading, working in her flower garden, loved horses and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Gerod Dedmon; and sister, Elizabeth Peeler Blanton.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret "Ann" Dedmon of Lawndale; nephews, Neil Blanton of Shelby and Stuart Blanton of Pennsylvania; niece, Marjorie Putnam of Sunset Beach; and loving caregivers with a special thanks to Hospice Cleveland County.
Funeral: Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2 p.m., Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel
Officiated by: The Rev. Tony Tench
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour before the service, at the funeral home.
Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park

I am so sorry to hear about Amy. She was a joy to be around. She was a fighter and gave life her all. Just know that she is with God now. My prayers are with you.
