Carole Rice Obituary

CAROLE RICE
SHELBY – Carole Klinke Rice, 80, of Cross Creek, went to join her Heavenly Father after a lengthy battle with cancer on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27, 2014, at the Hospice of Cleveland County.
Carole was born on February 28, 1934 in Harrison City, PA, to the late Joseph and Gladys Curry Klinke.
Carole grew up in North Irwin, Pa, and was a graduate of North Huntington (PA) High School, where she met her husband of over 60 years, Ray Rice. Together, they raised three children while living in Pennsylvania, Georgia and throughout the Carolinas. They lived the past 10 years in Cross Creek after four years in Rutherfordton, NC.
Carole was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and a disciple of Christ. Carole loved her husband, family, Church and friends.
In addition to her loving husband Ray, she is survived by her son Scott Rice and wife Beverly of Littleton, CO; daughter Renee' Brewster and husband Daryl of Brookside, NJ; son Christopher Rice and wife Christie of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren Dexter Rice, Baylee Rice, Hallyn Rice Brewster and husband Jamie Parrott, Jordan Rice Brewster and husband Grayson Hodnett, Keeler Rice Brewster, Meade Rice Brewster, Abbie Rice Lewis and husband Jon Lewis, Ashley Rice and Dylan Rice; and one great grandchild Evelyn Lewis.
Her grandchildren commented that Carole was always an angel on Earth and now has her wings.
She was predeceased by her sister Joanne Skipper.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
There is a memorial service at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28152, whom the family would like to give a special thanks for their care and support.
