Frances Weatherford Obituary
She was born April 17, 1922, in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Byrd Martin and Anne Carpenter Melton. She retired from Jenkins Food and was a member of New Life Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilbur Weatherford; a son-in-law, Joseph Franklin Roberts Jr.; brothers Robert, Colon and Worth Melton; and sisters, Lona Withrow, Selma McIntyre and Margaret Hamrick.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sallie Weatherford of Shelby; a daugh-ter, Barbara Roberts of Earl; a sister-in-law, Madge Melton of Boiling Springs; a special niece, Louise Canipe of Shelby; grandchildren, Don Roberts, David Weatherford and wife, Wendy, Brian Weatherford and wife, Karen, Kay Wright and husband, Calvin, Dayna Philbeck and husband, Joey, and Dawn Gilliam and husband, Mike. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at Cleveland Funeral Services.

Robert and Family,
I was saddened to read of your mom's passing. I never knew her, but I know she must have been a fine lady to have a son like you. I hope your memories of days growing up will be a source of real joy and love. I am sorry I was unable to attend the funeral...I tried to get out of my driveway, but the icy road stopped me! Gene was out in the only 4 wheel drive that we have, so please know I have thought of your family today.

I loved Maw Maw so much and was saddened to hear of her passing. I have many special memories of her when I was married to Brian. My prayers are with the entire family. Carol Wright
