Karon Barrow Obituary
"KK", as she was affectionately known, was born Jan. 28, 1989, in Teaneck, N.J., to Karon Denise Barrow and David Pegeese. Karón was employed by Ruby Tuesday in Shelby and was a 2008 graduate of Shelby High School, where she was nominated for Homecoming Queen and was first runner-up. Always known to be a social butterfly, Karón was a "Pretty Girl" with a loving personality whose face always held a beautiful smile. "Most likely to host a talk show" was Karón's Senior Superlative from her graduating class. She was a member of New Ellis Chapel Baptist Church and was a proud, loving mother to her two daughters.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bernice Hines, David Pegeese Sr. and Beverly Hart; and her uncles, Dwight Barrow and Kevin Hart.
Left to cherish fond memories is her mother, Karon Barrow of Shelby; her father, David Pegeese Jr. of Englewood, N.J.; two daughters, Ja'Kayla and Kallie Wilson of the home; four brothers, Jayron Barrow of Shelby, Desmond Pegeese and David Smith-Pegeese, both of Englewood, N.J., and Davon Pegeese of Atlanta, Ga.; five aunts, Sharon Jones of Wilmington, Del., Linda Kay Simmons of Charlotte, Kim Clemmons (Tim) of Shelby, Roxanne Collier (Jeff) of Homestead, Fla., and Rita Brisco (Donald) of Capital Heights, Md.; three uncles, Julian Hopper of Shelby, Regional Hart and Donald Hart, both of Englewood, N.J.; a special cousin who was raised as a sister, Sha'Lee Jones of Englewood, N.J.; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral: Friday, Feb. 26, 2 p.m., New Ellis Baptist Church
Officiated by: The Rev. A.A. Ponder and Pastor Lillie M. Smith delivering th eulogy
Visitation: The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service, at the church.

I can't believe you are gone...I miss you so much! It seems like just yesterday that we were playing together as little girls...I have been looking through pictures lately and found some of us from SO long ago...wish you were here to reminisce with me. You have always been so special to me and I would give anything to have you back but I have come to realize that you are in a better place where you are at peace. I met Karon in Ruby Tuesday and I remember her for her liberating smile and awesome personality. I was always amazed at her professionalism as a young lady. I was saddened to learn of her death. My prayers go out to her family. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. I will truly miss her presence, as she was a blessing to my family and me. May the Lord continue to keep and strengthen her children and the loved ones.

Karon was a beautiful angel, i remeber there wasnt a day that went by that she didnt have that smile that could light up a room, i remember no matter how my days were going if karon was around she did whatever she could to make me smile or laugh..Didnt matter who you were or where you came from karon was your friend and when she became your friend she was truely a friend for life, Karon is truely missed by me and she will never be forgotten..ill be keeping her family and her beautiful lil girls in my prayers everyday..Karon was a amazing mother and an amazing friend and we will all miss her dearly but in our hearts we know that she is in a better place now where she can never be hurt again and where she will be watching over us like she always has..

To the family of Karon,
We were heart sickened to hear about the death of Karon.
You dont know my husband and myself, but we would go to Ruby Tuesday often. Karon was always so good to us and would make sure that we were taken care of. I am an amputee and she would make sure that I had everything I needed, and she always gave me a hug when we would leave
God needed another angel and he has a very good one. I know that she will look down on her family and her friends.
My prayers are with the family and the children. May God hold eack of you in his loving hands and comfort you at the time of grief.

Oh KK, you are missed SO much already! I just can't comprehend right now why you were taken from us and more importantly, your little girls. This family is going to do everything in our power to take care of your girls as good as you did. I know you will keep a close eye on your babies.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the barrow family. I didnt know karon but I got to know her well enough though this tragic ending of her life. My girlfriend grew up with her since middle school and i got to learn so much wonderful things about karon. I also watched this dvd that she was in (Dream Girl Contest) from the 9th grade and it brought a smile to my face. I know she's gone but she wont be forgotten. She had to many love ones and friends that cared. God bless you all. I will keep you in my prayers.

Karon was a beautiful young lady. I never knew what she was going through because she always managed to wear that beautiful smile. I remember whenever my husband and I would visit Ruby Tuesdays she would be there to greet us so professionally and I would say to myself she is headed for success. We would ask her how she was doing and she was always positive. She will be missed. I want to express my sincerest sympathy to Karon's family. I met her a couple of years ago when she taught my daughter's class at Jefferson School. From then on, we talked each time we saw each other. I am so very sorry this happened to such a nice, special person. I am quite sure she will be terribly missed.
