Leola Davis

Leola Lail Davis, 97 of Lawndale passed away, Thursday, April 12, 2018 at
Shelby Manor.
Born April 16, 1920 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late
Preston Lail and Mary Davis Lail. She was retired from Bike Athletic and
was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James
Davis; three brothers, Paul, Jesse, and Samuel Lail; sisters, Annie Mae
Rayfield and Wilma Pearson, son-in-law, Richard Morrison; and two
grandchildren, Jessica Davis and Darrell Gene Davis.
Survivors include sons, Harold Davis of Hickory, Carroll Davis of Vale,
Billy Davis of Connelly Springs and Joel Davis and wife, Debbie of Lawndale;
daughters, Gale Morrison of Lawndale and Karen Costner and husband, Ken of
Lawndale; sister, Mozelle Crotts of Lawndale; twelve grandchildren and
fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family would also like to thank the staff and employees of Shelby Manor
for all the loving care they gave Mrs. Davis over the years. A speical
thank you to Hospice Cleveland County, and especialy hospice nurse Katie
Pasour and special friends Pansy Lail and Shirley Gillespie for the care
they provided during Mrs. Davis's illness.
The family will receive friends on Monday at 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at St. Paul
Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Monday at St. Paul Baptist Church
with the Rev. Keith Fulbright officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery.
