Nathaniel Campbell Obituary
He was born January 29, 1942 in Cleveland County to the late Ozzie and Louise Farley Campbell.
Nathaniel was a graduate of Douglas High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawndale. A hard working person, he was retired from the City of Shelby with over 30 years of employment and after retiring worked for Century Furniture in Hickory for 7 years. His hobbies included fishing and playing basketball and softball. In 2010, Nathaniel was inducted into the Golden Bulls (presently known as the Shelby Bulls) Hall of Fame.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Grant Campbell, Thomas Gene Campbell and Odus Campbell.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Trina Ross (Marcus), Donnie Gidney (Brenda), Shaun Campbell, Lajuana Flack (Shocki) all of Shelby, and Montrel Dillingham (fiancé Millen) of Ansbach, Germany; a step-son, Eric "Pee Wee" Byers of Morganton; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eaker Campbell and Matthew Campbell both of Kingstown; three sisters, Elnora Hunt of Kingstown, Geneva Jefferies of Cherryville, and Aileen Toms of Kingstown; longtime special friend, Betty Dillingham of the home; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, cousins and friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2 p.m. at the church
Funeral Service: Monday, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Lawndale
Officiated By: Rev. Billy D. Houze
Burial: church cemetery
Funeral Home: Enloe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
