Nellie Carpenter Obituary
LAWNDALE-Nellie Veronia Carpenter, 99, of Sand Hill Road, Lawndale, passed away at Carolina Care Center on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017.
Born in Cleveland County, on Feb. 3, 1918, she was a daughter of the late John David Schenck Carpenter and Zoie Elam Lattimore Carpenter. She was a homemaker and member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her two brothers, John Francis Carpenter and Hugh Carpenter and six sisters, Mary Fuchia Carpenter, Jennie C. Lovelace, Louise C. Peeler, Meredith C. Newman, Ruby May Carpenter, and Pearl C. Southard.
She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., on Monday, at New Bethel Baptist Church, with the Dr. Tim Elmore and Rev. Jason Allen officiating.
The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 5, Lawndale, NC 28090.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston, NC.
