Ruby Hardin Obituary

SHELBY - Mrs. Ruby Logan Hardin, 68, of 148 Laren Road, Shelby, departed this life on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at Carolinas HealthCare System, Charlotte.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1948, in Cleveland County, to the late William C. and Ida Mae Hargro Logan. Ruby accepted Christ at a very young age and joined Shiloh Baptist Church. She later continued that relationship with God by joining Good Samaritan Fellowship Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member serving in many capacities over the years. She reunited with Shiloh Baptist Church where she had been a member for the last two years.

Ruby was a graduate of Gardner-Webb University, where she completed the RN Nursing Program in 1991. She was employed with the Cleveland County Health Department for almost 28 years. While employed there, she worked for many years in Adult Health and Family Planning. She was always dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others no matter what she did and was loved and respected for it.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Virgil and Mamie Hargro; paternal grandparents, Denver Clifton and Laura Jo Francis Logan; brothers, Howard Logan and Warren Logan; and nephews, Craig Logan and Claude W. Logan.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her husband of 31 years, Edward Hardin Jr.; her children, Raymond Curry (Geri) of Smyrna, Tenn., Terence Curry (Debbie) of Tucker, Ga., Rhonda Curry Puckerin of Kings Mountain, Maurice Hardin of San Diego, Calif., Crystal Kegler (Omar) and Edward D. Hardin both of Shelby; two brothers, Charles Richard Logan (Isabeller) of Shelby and John Clifton Logan of Charlotte; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three aunts; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from from 1:30 to 2 p.m., prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. James Coleman officiating.

Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
