Shirley White Obituary
Shelby - Shirley Ledbetter White, 85, passed away May 10, 2021 at her home. Born in Kings Mountain, NC, Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Thomas (Tom) Ledbetter and the late Macie Ramsey Ledbetter. She was retired from the USPS where she devoted 14 years of service and 20+ years at Superior Feed & Eggs prior to that. She loved to garden, cook, and spend time with her family. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Huey Edgar White; her sons, Eddie Dale White, Kenneth Darrell White, and Ricky Dana (Kristan) White all of Shelby; five grandchildren, Shea White, Joshua (Mandy) White, Tyler Foster, Kelsey (Christopher) White, Bailey (Joshua) Page; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Olivia White, three sisters, Geraldine Robinson, Wilma (Vann) Parker and Louise Moss; two brother-in-laws, Charlie (Patsy) White and Vick (Madeline) White; three sister-in-laws Myrtie Putnam, Lilah Ledbetter and Edith Ledbetter; along with 45 nieces and nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her eight brothers Willie Ledbetter, James Ledbetter, Daniel Ledbetter, Dave Ledbetter, Harvey Ledbetter, Marvin Ledbetter and Tommy Ledbetter; two sisters, Bertha Henson and Carolyn Hinson; mother and father-in-law Garland Lee White and Lois McSwain White; brother-in-law Glenn (Melrose) White; sister-in-law, Sarah (Max) Long.
Funeral service will be at 11:00am on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Patterson Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 10:00am-11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cleveland County Hospice, 951 Wendover Heights Drive Shelby, NC 28150.

Aunt Shirley was such a great cook ... made the best coconut cake ever ... She will be missed ... my dad John was a lot like her. Both were hard working ,giving and kind people .. GOD rest her soul .. love you !

Dear Uncle Ed and cousins Dale, Darrell, and Dana. It’s been a lot of years since I’ve seen you all, but I have many good memories of growing up and spending time with all of the family. Aunt Shirley was always so sweet, and funny and it was always a pleasure to spend time with the family. My prayers are for all of you, for a peaceful heart and lasting memories. Aunt Shirley will be greatly missed. God bless you all.

There was never a more loving, carin Christian that I have ever met and loved. She meant the world to her family and friends. She loved being in the nursery at church with all her babies and she was always willing to help anyone anytime. She was such a dear wife, mother, maw maw and friend. She will be missed by me and everyone’s whose life she touch. My little veg and prayers to all the family.

Mrs. Shirley was a wonderful lady who loved everyone she knew especially all the babies she cared for in the church nursery. I will never forget all her love and care for my daughter during her infant years. I will definitely miss her! To Mr. Ed and all the family, I send my condolences during this most difficult time.
